For more than a century, Chevy has been producing iconic and classic vehicles that have become an important part of American culture and the automotive industry’s rich history. After so long on the market, you might think that the car company would be slowing down a bit, but as we look to the 2025 model year, it is becoming evident that there is no slowing down this car company.
Some of Chevy’s best are coming back with some serious upgrades that prove there is simply no stopping Chevy. The Tahoe and Suburban, both incredible SUVs in their own right, are going into the 2025 model year with similar upgrades inside and out. The Equinox sees even more changes, with a full redesign that brings new trims, color schemes, and more. We can’t wait to show off these updated vehicles here at Southern Chevrolet, your Chevy dealer near Montgomery, LA.
The All-New 2025 Chevy Equinox
Upon first look, it is clear that the 2025 Equinox is not the same SUV as the one put on the street for 2024. The 2025 model embraces a more athletic and bolder exterior, using sharper lines and several unique and bold grille options. Even the color options have been changed up with a handful of two-tone finishes for those who like a bit more excitement from their vehicles. Inside, there are quite a few aesthetic changes, but that is partially due to the new trim options available for the first time on the Equinox.
Brand-New Trim Options
The ACTIV trim is now putting Equinox fans off-road, offering a thrill ride for those willing to try. Some of the exterior color options for the ACTIV trim include a Summit White roof, indicating what awaits. Inside, the ACTIV is adorned in Black and Maple Sugar for an earthy vibe and has perforated inserts and sueded microfiber for a rich feel. The ACTIV also features a specially tuned suspension that is better equipped to handle the off-road challenges that might await. Check out Black Mountain for an enjoyable off-road experience and see what the ACTIV has to offer.
Another distinct trim that receives a glow-up for this model year is the sporty and stylish RS. Outside, the RS enjoys its own exclusive grille and front fascia, which gives the front end a sporty vibe. The unique black grille is complemented by black badging and, for those who choose, a black two-tone roof. Inside, the sporty theme is accentuated with a flat-bottom steering wheel and a thrilling color palette that includes Torch Red and Santorini Blue.
Fresh Style Inside and Out
The LT trim is not new to the lineup, but it has been given a fresh new face and an interior fitting the direction the Equinox is taking. A slew of new color options is now available on the LT, including the two-tone options, which really allow Montgomery drivers to customize their vehicle. The LT was offered with two interiors for the 2024 model year but has three options for the 2025 model year. This once again highlights the direction of the Equinox.
A few other changes can be found, like a newly enlarged infotainment display, which now measures 11.3 inches rather than maxing out at eight inches like in the previous year. The larger display makes a real impact on the interior, showing the move towards a more technologically advanced lineup. Even the air vents inside the Equinox have been redesigned, fitting the more fashionable style of the 2025 model and still doing their thing to keep you cool in the Louisiana heat.

The Updated 2025 Suburban and Tahoe
Yes, the Tahoe and Suburban are two different vehicles, but they are so close they might as well be twins. The exteriors of these full-size models have been slightly modified––not enough that everyone will notice, but enough that someone definitely will. All trims received a new front fascia as well, which updates the front end nicely. The grilles have been redesigned, and a few extra exterior colors have been added to the palette. Little was needed on the outside as both the Tahoe and Suburban have a reputation for being bold and attractive.
More Capable and Comfortable
The Z71 off-road trim throws in skid plates for extra protection when the road gets rough. It also receives a unique front fascia of its own, creating a high approach angle for clearing obstacles with ease. On the flip side is the High Country, which also gains some unique exterior attributes, like Galvano chrome trim, to give that sense of refinement as you cruise through Montgomery.
Moving inside, the twins get some decent upgrades, specifically an oversized 17.7-inch touchscreen, which is a best-in-class feature. Considering that the 2024 model year featured an infotainment display that measured 10.2 inches, this is a substantial boost for those who love all things tech. Because of the enlarged display, the rest of the dash has been reconfigured, resulting in a clean design that lets the infotainment display and digital gauge cluster shine.
Just as on the outside, some of the more unique trims gain some special features on the inside. The High Country, which represents a more sophisticated way of life, enjoys leather seats and even real wood trim, elevating the High Country to new heights. The RST, which is a sporty trim, gets a fun pop of color with Victory Red stitching. It isn’t just about looks for the Tahoe and Suburban, with more soft-touch materials making an appearance on select trims. Soft-touch materials don’t just add a nice look but actually add a plusher feel inside the cabin.
Not all changes can be seen; some can be felt, and this has nothing to do with the soft-touch materials. The diesel engine, which has provided some real muscle for the Chevy lineup, is now busting out some extra brute strength. The Duramax 3.0L inline-six jumped from 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque for the 2024 model year to 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque for 2025. With so much beefed-up power under the hood, this optional engine might be everyone’s go-to choice.
Safety Wins and So Do You
While most people will be drawn in primarily to the power or the new interior, some changes make less of a splash but deserve more of the applause. We are talking about safety, a category that should never be overlooked and never is when it comes to Chevy. Consider this scenario––you stop for a day walking about and enjoying the Cane River National Heritage Area. The scenery is so stunning you forget your problems and simply enjoy everything––until you receive a notice that movement is detected inside your vehicle. With a new Interior Motion Detection system that is capable of detecting minor movements, you can be alerted to a potential intruder or that something valuable has been left behind.
On a similar level is the Connected Cameras feature, which provides one of the most comprehensive camera views of your vehicle when you aren’t even near it. With security recording and so much more, you can make sure your vehicle and your belongings are safe. There is no reason to stress when taking in the sights, especially when you have the safety of Chevy to back you.

An Exciting Time for Chevy
In the end, Chevy knows how to build vehicles that are worth their weight in gold, and somehow, they only get better. Whether a model has been on the market for decades or only a few years, Chevy is consistently working to improve its vehicles for those who get behind the wheel. With so many upgrades arriving for the 2025 model year, it is an exciting time to be a Chevy driver.
