SUVs That Just Make Sense

Chevy has an extensive lineup of SUVs to choose from, whether you want a gas-powered or a hybrid option. Many of their offerings have been around for years, like the Suburban, which was introduced in 1935—a testament to Chevrolet’s dedication to its lineup. Through the years, they’ve created new vehicles that test the limits of performance and answer the needs of multiple kinds of drivers, improving their options with each generation.

Today, the Chevy SUV lineup hosts eight options, ranging from the subcompact Trax to the full-size Suburban, all of which will help make life easier. We’ll be reviewing a few of these, but to get the full effect, peruse our inventory or come down to our showroom. Our friendly, knowledgeable sales associates will help narrow down which SUV is best for you, taking the time to explore trims and packages along the way.

The Chevy Trax

The Chevy Trax is back with passion, having taken a small break for a fun and functional redesign that has the smallest SUV in the lineup turning heads. The Trax is remarkably affordable, even when choosing the top-tiered 2RS or ACTIV trim. Each Trax presents a standard 1.2L EcoTec Turbo engine with a six-speed transmission, as well as aggressive exterior styling that makes passersby take notice.

Each Trax also comes with Chevy Safety Assist, Chevy’s collection of driver assistance safety features that help you get where you’re going with confidence and peace of mind. Standout features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. Each component works with others to ensure you and your passengers are safe, whether you’re headed down the block or taking a drive along the Cane River National Heritage Trail.

Its 11.0-inch HD color touchscreen and seamless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to access any info you need during the drive; this is helpful if you’re picking up a food order, heading to a new hiking trail with the family, or thrifting to pick up a new upcycling find for your side business. In addition, Trax offers a 60/40-split folding rear seat so you can increase your cargo space when needed.

The Chevy Trax also offers excellent fuel efficiency, giving up to 28 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway; this allows you to go further, getting the most out of each tank.

The Chevy Blazer

In the middle of the pack is the Chevy Blazer—not to be confused with the Chevy Trailblazer, which is another hot SUV. The Blazer was first introduced as a short-bed truck in 1969 in response to Ford’s Bronco; it offered drivers a capable truck option that had a roomy interior and shorter wheelbase for navigating tight turns. Today’s Chevy Blazer is a dynamic midsize SUV that is a contender for the top spot in its class, with up to 64.2 cu.ft. of cargo space and a responsive alternative all-wheel drivetrain that helps you maneuver winding roads and weather conditions with ease.

The Blazer also makes unloading and loading easier with an available hands-free liftgate. It also offers Tap-and-Go technology through the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium system with connection Navigation and a 10.2-inch color touchscreen; this is standard on all trims but the base 2LT, for which it is an option. Other high-tech features that keep you on the right path include available Bluetooth audio streaming, wireless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and voice recognition for compatible phones; each of these advanced innovations helps you find new places to enjoy adventures or your next delivery location.

In addition, the Chevy Blazer can be customized with multiple packages to increase its functionality, from driver and front passenger ventilated seats to advanced driver assistance features like Rear Park Assist. Also, you can add roof-mounted side rails or cross rails to help haul your kayak, bicycle, or whatever else you want to bring.

When properly equipped, the Blazer has off-road capabilities, drive modes that help navigate multiple terrains, and the ability to tow up to 4,500 lbs—perfect for taking a trailer to the nearby craft show, loading it up with lumber for your DIY project, or enjoying a weekend camping at the RV park.

The Chevy Suburban

Let’s explore how the largest SUV in the lineup can help you through your day. Not only is the Suburban the biggest option, but it offers the longest wheelbase, which is something to consider if your tasks take you into the city or along narrow roads. However, the Suburban also furnishes an incredible amount of power, providing you with three engine options.

These engines are enough to tackle any task, as well as haul a large RV or trailer, depending on your needs. The Suburban also comes with rear- and front-wheel drivetrains, premium cushioned seating, ample leg and headroom, plus the same great connectivity and driver assistance features as the rest of the Chevy lineup.

The Suburban is an outstanding choice if your hobbies or job require you to access extended passenger and cargo space or if you have a growing family that enjoys taking off for a few days to explore, giving you best-in-class numbers for up to nine people and 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo space. It was also named the 2023 Best Large SUV for Families by US News & World Report, receiving this honor for the third year in a row.

When choosing your Suburban, you have six trims to consider, all with their own bells and whistles while providing the same great reliability and performance. Notable features—depending on the trim level—include Magnetic Ride Control with available Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension (for a smooth ride and easy access) and the available Super Cruise, which allows you to relax and enjoy the ride with hands-free driving and trailering on over 400,000 miles of compatible roads across North America.
